A spokeswoman for the Minister told J-Wire: “The Full Federal Court allowed two of the three grounds of the Commonwealth’s appeal against a decision in 2010 to set aside the Minister’s determination to surrender Mr Zentai to Hungary to face prosecution for a war crime.
The Full Federal Court upheld that Mr Zentai is an ‘accused’ person within the meaning of the Extradition Act, and that the Minister took into account relevant considerations when considering whether it would be unjust, oppressive or incompatible with humanitarian considerations to surrender Mr Zentai to Hungary.
However, the Full Federal Court did not uphold the Commonwealth’s ground of appeal that the offence for which Hungary seeks Mr Zentai’s extradition is an offence for which he could be surrendered in accordance with the Treaty between Australia and Hungary. This is because the offence of ‘war crime’ was not listed on Hungary’s statute books at the time the offence was allegedly committed.
It was appropriate to appeal to the Full Court as the case raised significant and complex issues for the administration of Australia’s extradition regime.
The Full Federal Court decision is currently under consideration by the Government in consultation with the Commonwealth’s legal advisers and it is not appropriate to comment further at this stage”.

Brendan O’Connor to resolve the question of whether it was in fact a war crime that took place in 1944, we would far prefer the Government to consider my father’s age and poor health and invite Hungarian officials to Australia to question him. Living witness Mr Karoly Szabo from Sydney who was at the barracks at the time of the murder of Peter Balazs and received a report about the incident that night could also be questioned. We feel it is a reasonable proposal in the circumstances. It would give Hungary the opportunity to examine important evidence that the Australian Government refuses to consider and avoid further unnecessary costs to the Australian and Hungarian taxpayers. My father’s lawyers are reviewing yesterday’s judgment to determine the next course of action. It was difficult for everyone to grasp all the implications of the announcement in the Federal Court yesterday but my father is relieved that orders have been suspended and that he will remain on his current bail conditions for now.”

The Zentai Project is a group of people who go out in public wearing Zentai suits, for the amusement of themselves and the public.
A Zentai is a tight, colourful suit that transforms a normal person into amusement for all who see them.
We in The Zentai Project make occasional 'walkabouts' - trips with one or more people wearing zentai out in public places, and sometimes someone to take pictures. Walkabouts have happened all around the world, as you can see from the pictures in the gallery.
The locals don't know what to make of us, but the tourists love us and we get onto lots of tourist snaps - sometimes we can hardly walk 3 steps down the street before being stopped to pose for another picture.

Two former female Booz Allen partners file suits
Two former high-ranking partners at Booz Allen Hamilton have filed suit in recent weeks against the McLean-based contracting giant, alleging that they were fired because of their gender.
Margo Fitzpatrick, who had worked in Booz Allen’s finance business since 1999, filed the latest suit last Friday in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia against the company and some of its top officials. Her suit follows one filed by Molly Finn, who was at one time the company’s highest-ranking female employee and worked on Booz Allen’s environmental business.
The two complaints paint a picture of Booz Allen as a workplace where a “glass ceiling” existed limiting how high women could rise, and where contracts or programs they won were given away to male employees. Finn and Fitzpatrick describe top company leadership as unwelcoming to women, particularly pointing to overseas golf trips that never included women.
“Although several women partners are capable golfers,” Fitzpatrick said in her filing, “no woman has ever been invited on these trips.”
The lawsuits are unusual for a company that has long been regarded as one of the region’s most successful and best-run government contractors. Booz Allen has reported strong sales and profits since going public late last year.
The company said it does not comment on specific personnel situations but strongly denies the allegations.
“Booz Allen has a performance-based culture that is rigorous at the partner level, and decisions are made based on merit, not gender,” the company said in a statement. It said it will contest both suits.
Fitzpatrick, now 49, joined Booz Allen in 1999 as a senior associate tasked with working on a major initiative at the Internal Revenue Service. In 2001, she was promoted to principal and in 2005, to partner. In 2009, according to her suit, the finance and citizen services team was reorganized and Fitzpatrick began working for Lloyd Howell, named as a defendant and tapped to lead a new financial services team.
Fitzpatrick claims in the suit that Howell used “sexist humor” — once complaining that two women on his team “must have been involved in sororities in college, since they caused so much ‘drama.’ ”
Fitzpatrick, a lesbian, claims her sexual orientation also played a role in her dismissal.
As an entry-level partner, Fitzpatrick needed to be promoted within 5.5 years or she’d be terminated. Despite positive assessments that praised her ability to build a new business within the finance market, Fitzpatrick says in the suit that she was informed in September 2010 that she’d been rated “off track” and would be let go.
In an interview, she said her career options are dramatically constrained by a non-compete agreement that prevents her from taking a job with another management consulting firm. She is planning to start her own commercially focused digital media marketing company.
Fitzpatrick’s suit closely follows one filed earlier in the summer by Finn, who named as defendants the company as well as Ralph W. Shrader, who is the chief executive, chairman and president, and other senior officials.
Finn claimed in her suit that Howell told her to stop saying “pro-woman, feminist things” to Shrader, and she said other partners told her that Shrader opposed her promotion.
“The Leadership Team, led by Defendant Ralph Shrader, relied upon sexist and stereotypically derogatory views of women in determining that Ms. Finn” should be dismissed, the suit said.
A Booz Allen spokeswoman said neither Shrader nor Howell were available for comment.
The company has acknowledged the challenges of moving more women into top roles, convening senior executives at a 2004 event focused on women’s leadership, according to briefing materials for the event provided by Fitzpatrick’s attorney.
The document, intended to be read before the gathering, noted that women “remain a minority at all senior levels in the firm, particularly in corporate governance and strategic decision-making roles.”
“In view of the absence of a critical mass of women in senior ranks, both business units face significant challenges in developing women as leaders and introducing greater diversity into senior roles,” the document added.

Sculptural Surprises Grace the Streets
It is the outdoor art season in New York and therefore a good time to ask what makes for a successful piece of urban public art. When art ventures away from the nurturing shelter of the white-walled gallery, it must contend with all kinds of distractions: huge buildings; noisy vehicular and pedestrian traffic; spectacular, sexy commercial signs with dizzying video imagery; unpredictable weather; the verdant beauty of a park; and the sheer interestingness and variety of so much else that in the artificial and natural fabric of the city.
One way for public art to distinguish itself is to be really big. This year’s prize for size should go to Jaume Plensa’s “Echo,” a gigantic, ghostly, white head of a girl in Madison Square Park. Towering 44 feet, it is made of molded fiberglass resin parts fitted together so the seams show. It looks as if it had been carved from a huge, laminated block of marble, and the girl’s features are rendered smoothly as if they had been eroded by the elements over the years. The head is also oddly distorted — flattened in such a way that it resembles a digitally manipulated three-dimensional photograph or a hologram. Viewed from a distance at night, when it is bathed in the bright light of lamps around its base, it seems to glow, a silently plaintive specter conjured, maybe, by the guilty conscience of a rapacious modernity.
Less spectacular but effectively haunting in its own way — partly because of its grand scale — is one of a number of works commissioned by the High Line: a greatly enlarged black-and-white photograph by Robert Adams mounted on a billboard next to that elevated park. Made in 1978 in rural Nebraska, the photograph shows a narrow, much weathered country road running between fields of tall grass and extending from the foreground to the top of a low, faraway hill. Dried, fallen leaves from small trees have gathered at the side of the road. A melancholy mood is enhanced by blocks of funereal black filling in the oblong expanse of the billboard on either side of the picture. Like Mr. Plensa’s sculpture the photograph evokes something neglected, a soulful road not taken. But there is too an eerie feeling of hopefulness, of a possibility not yet foreclosed. (The billboard will regularly present landscapes by eminent photographers selected by the photographer Joel Sternfeld.)
Mr. Adams’s photograph works not only because of its drive-in-movie scale but also because it is so different from the kind of visual material that normally attracts and assaults the public eye. A few yards farther up the High Line, strollers come upon another billboard: not an artwork but a huge advertisement for Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club. With its blaring purple and gold hues and the come-hither expression of the sultry woman it pictures, it must be an embarrassing thorn in the side of the High Line’s administrators, who clearly favor low-key subtlety over high-impact flash. Another expansive piece on the High Line, for example, is a long wall of windows by Spencer Finch called “The River That Flows Both Ways.” Each of hundreds of panes is the color of a pixel from a photograph of the surface of the Hudson River. Jade, wine, teal and other muted hues produce a lovely, quiet symphony of color.
An elephantine sculpture in front of the Seagram Building on Park Avenue at 53rd Street has much going for it: impressive scale, contrast with the normal environment and popularly appealing imagery. Urs Fischer’s “Untitled (Lamp/Bear)” is a 23-foot-tall representation of a lumpy yellow stuffed bear wedged into the space between the base and the shade of an old desk light. Weighing in at almost 17 tons, it is made of painted cast bronze and has table-top size button eyes sewn on with rope. The light glows at night. (Christie’s, the auction house that recently sold the sculpture, organized its outdoor presentation.)
For contemporary art followers the obvious comparisons are Jeff Koons sculptures like the giant shiny “Balloon Dog” and the flower-covered “Puppy.” But the Fischer displays little of the fanatical attention to surface and detail seen in Mr. Koons’s work. It also relates to the tradition of the Duchampian found object and the absurdist Pop Art monuments of Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. Leaving aside its presumptive pedigree, however, it is not very different technically and aesthetically from the kitschy, Pop-realist sculptures of J. Seward Johnson, whose enormous representation of Marilyn Monroe in her upward-billowing dress has caused much debate in Chicago since its recent installation there downtown.
